Realtor brings 25 years of legal expertise to William Means Real Estate
William Means Real Estate is proud to welcome Amy Edmonds Mathisen to its team of experienced Realtors. A Charleston native, Mathisen brings a client-centered approach informed by years of legal practice, combining strong negotiation skills, thoughtful advocacy, and deep local knowledge.
“Amy has a genuine ability to connect with people and understand what matters most to them,” said Lyles Geer, President and Broker-in-Charge of William Means Real Estate. “Her legal background brings an added level of attention to detail, especially when it comes to contracts and negotiations, giving our clients confidence throughout the process. Combined with her collaborative nature and commitment to her clients, she is a natural fit for our team.”
Mathisen’s legal career included representing employers and insurance companies in workers’ compensation cases at both the state and federal levels, where she handled hundreds of cases and negotiated successful outcomes in many more.
A graduate of Wofford College and the University of South Carolina School of Law, she later served in senior management for a maritime group self-insurer, overseeing complex longshore cases. Through this work, she developed a strategic, solutions-oriented approach and the ability to guide clients through high-stakes decisions with clarity and confidence.
“I understand that buying or selling a home is one of the most important decisions a person or family can make,” Mathisen said. “My goal is to make that process as seamless and successful as possible by serving as a trusted resource and advocate for my clients every step of the way.”
